    Crikey ! Management …
Crikey ! Management by spreadsheet is a comment I have made for the last few years. “They” are looking at the spreadsheet and not what is outside – the objective becomes trying to get the numbers in the spreadsheet correct. Crazy.

Your video about banking some time ago hit a chord. In discussion with a database vendor about 18 months ago they said they could see the supermarkets being the banks of the future. Its happenning now – Tesco in particular it seems.

    Well we will see. …
Well we will see. i predict that seat width and legroom will have to be adjusted – and airlines are already doing so by creating premium economy, charging significantly more. The challenge is that plane widths were set by manufacturers based on combinations such as 3 each side of aisle, and having only 2 plus 3 is a big extra cost.

    Thanks – I see this …
Thanks – I see this issue played out every day in corporations, where people spend hours looking at spreadsheets and so on. Great – but customers can surprise us by behaving very differently than previous data suggested. We need insight to have true foresight.

    You talked about …
You talked about how Airline companies need to keep in mind that their seats are small and that flights are unpleasant if placed between two overweight individuals. Don’t you think people have already voted with their dollars that they prefer the cheapest price, no matter how unpleasant?
